Hectanooga Crochet Patterns EmiCrafting isn’t just for kids!  Read this guest post by Emi from Hectanooga. See how she becomes inspired to create hand crafted items from things she finds around the house!  Emi was the Queen of Upcycle/Recycle before those words were even invented.  I’m happy to share her guest post with you today!  Please welcome Emi.

Hello friends!

I’ve always found crafting to be relaxing and meditative.  It takes away the chatter of busy life and lets you tap into your creativity!   What better way to satisfy a creative spirit, than touse up things you already have around the house?  Nothing should be over-looked when it comes to crafting… paper towels, food coloring, flour, paper bags, newspaper and flyers, scraps of fabric that can be turned into glorious flowers… watch out… here we come with our minds set on CRAFTING 101!I’ve never been one to follow a pattern or other people’s designs.  My craft projects always seem to come out of my head!  But, don’t worry if you’re not that type of crafter.  I’m happy to show you my ideas and get you inspired to try them for yourself.

You can learn to make jewelry from old belts and stones, pendants from newspaper, faux enamel brooches from card stock, flowers from coffee filters, and lovely cards using only scissors and card stock, (butterflies, snowflakes, etc.)

Crafting is not only a great pass-time, it’s a way to create things you want, but can’t find at the store.  Or things you just don’t have the inclination to get into the car and go shopping for.  Crafting is also a way to create something unique that you dreamed up in your head.  And, it can all be done with very little expense!!

Don’t believe it’s so easy to make beautiful and creative items from things you find around the house?   I can show you!  I find great enjoyment from creating something out of nothing and can show you how!   Since you might live far away, it’s convenient that I have a channel on YouTube called Hectanooga1.  (Can you believe it, Hectanooga was already taken so I had to choose Hectanooga1!?!) So, if you’re curious check it out!

You can also visit my Blog, where you’ll find mostly Crochet items.  Feel free to poke around.  And if you don’t know how to crochet, that’s ok.  I’ve got some how to crochet tutorials available so you can learn!

I hope you’ll become inspired! I’d like to show you just how simple it can be to make something useful, and even sometimes beautiful out of regular everyday things!

Thanks for Reading!
Emi, from Hectanooga.
